As volunteers on hospital ships, we travel to provide free world-class health services and safe surgical care. We are dedicated to strengthening local healthcare systems in developing countries through the provision of top-notch medical care and advanced training, making a difference in communities with limited access to health.
Founded in 1978 by Don and Deyon Stephens, Mercy Ships has worked in more than 55 developing countries, providing services worth more than €1.53 billion and treating more than 2.8 million direct beneficiaries.
Mercy Ships brings together over 1,200 volunteers annually from more than 60 countries. This team includes surgeons, dentists, nurses, health educators, teachers, cooks, sailors, engineers, and electricians. All of them contribute their time and skills selflessly. Our goal is to transform lives and serve nations through unity and commitment.
