Our ships are state-of-the-art facilities that provide clean water, reliable electricity, and healthcare centers. Since over 50% of the world’s population lives within 150 km of the coast, we can sail directly to people who lack access to safe and affordable healthcare.
The Ships
Throughout the history of Mercy Ships, there has been a wide variety of vessels in service, all used to bring hope and healing to people in need with limited or no resources. Our newest ship, the Global Mercy, joins the Africa Mercy to double our operational capacity.
As this new ship can only be in one geographic area at a time, it is Mercy Ships’ desire to expand the fleet in the future and offer our assistance to more people and in more places. From our offices in 17 countries, we support the work being done on the ground, recruiting volunteers, seeking resources, and raising awareness among the general public about the situation in sub-Saharan Africa.
