Volunteers
More than 1,200 volunteers from over 60 countries serve with Mercy Ships each year.
Many nations, one mission
One of the enriching aspects of Mercy Ships is the diversity of people who have collaborated over the years. More than 1,200 volunteers from over 60 countries serve with Mercy Ships each year. From surgeons and medical staff to the captain, cooks, technicians, teachers, and others, our crew represents a wide range of skills and specialties needed to make a difference in the countries we serve.
Testimonies from our volunteers
Mercy Ships was the best place to share my talents in a way that suits my personality. We live in a community...we share our talents, our energy and our space as much as we can with each other: the crew, the patients and the surrounding country.
I love teaching at Africa Mercy because I can be with my students all the time. I get a more complete idea of who they are as people and how I can teach them better.
People come from all over the world and from many backgrounds and yet we are able to communicate with each other as seafarers. It's very exciting and I enjoy it!
